Dr. DB's Downloads

I would like to thank Emerald Technologies for providing the general public with this unequaled opportunity to download the following paltry extracts from my numerous published works. I am also pleased to be able to offer selected database modules (below) from my esteemed professional colleague, the respected “sh.”

N.B.: if you do not know how to download files, use zip archives, or other basic Windows techniques, the Doctor strongly  recommends that you buy and read the Windows for Dummies  book for your particular version of Windows. Do not allow the title to discourage you: these books are actually the "Users' Manual for Windows" that – as a monopoly – Micro$oft does not bother to supply. Copies may be found or ordered at most bookstores.()

Web Bug filter for Proxomitron* (NEW)

Web bugs are commonly used on web pages to track users, both by 'reporting back' user information to offsite adservers and by placing adserver cookies in cache files.  (See the Web Bug FAQ for more information.)
*Note: .cfg files are (renamed) text files. Since most browsers merely display the text, use the right -click "Save (link/target)" option.  [See below for more information on Proxomitron.]

Web Filters (Local Proxies)
Control your internet experience by using a local proxy!
These programs filter the pages you view by editing the web page code before  it gets to your browser. You can control cookies, block banner ads, kill flash/shockwave animated ads, stop nosey javascripts from grabbing your email address, prevent popup/popunder ad windows from opening, freeze blinking .gifs, hide where you've been, and stop your browser from broadcasting your system information. (Note: Be sure to check the website to insure the proxy will work with your version of Windows. Also, I've not checked the WebWasher site recently, and it may no longer be available as freeware.)

Image/Multimedia Viewer
IrfanView Image Viewer/Editor
“IrfanView is a compact, easy to use image viewer. …
You can also edit images directly in IrfanView to produce a variety of effects.”
This program will display and edit more image formats than most of us have ever seen, and it will run most multimedia files without  "calling home."
In addition, you can do all the basic image editing necessary to print your digital pictures or to fit images to your website. For example, you can rotate or flip images, resize/resample images, add or subtract colors, sharpen images, determine print size and set other printing options, create thumbnails, use the slideshow option to view all the images in a selected directory, use filters to create special effects and much, much more. Users will also be astounded (and delighted) with the extraordinarily flexible configuration options; and, when you consider that the program is donationware
[Freeware for individual use; but, “I want to continue working on this program, therefore, your registration/donation will be an incentive for me to add new functions and increase the program's quality. …If you like this program please register/donate…USD 10… .”]
there is every reason to grab it NOW! Supporting files are also found on the sh  Files 5.0 CD

I would like to publicly acknowledge the generous support of both Emerald Technologies and the reknowned Dr. Bhumpurkahr for this opportunity to share what has been, until now, ignored by only available to the academic community.  sh, 2008.09.01
